Commodity Watch: Copper futures rise slightly on higher demand

New Delhi: Copper prices on Friday marginally rose 0.03 per cent to Rs 860.80 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in July traded marginally higher 30 paise or 0.03 per cent at Rs 860.80 per kg in a business turnover of 1,627 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on weak demand
Aluminium prices on Friday declined by 0.21 per cent to Rs 232.50 per kg in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July fell 50 paise or 0.21 per cent to Rs 232.50 per kg in a trading volume of 1,125 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries pulled down aluminium prices.
